Who

I'm a Software Engineer with a Bachelors in Computer Science from the University of Lisbon, and in 2021 I moved to Copenhagen and enrolled in a Masters of Computer Science at Københavns Universitet from which I am currently taking a break. At university I've gained an interest in Distributed Systems and Human-Centered Computing, and I've developed projects in Wearable Technology and research projects on the LGBTQ+ community online, and on ethical challenges when developing a tech startup.

Professionally I have focused mainly on backend web development with software architecture and design patterns being my main area of interest. I'm also in my zone when dealing with event-driven architectures, message brokers, microservices and asynchronous systems.

I'm also always on the lookout for fun, sometimes silly, side projects to work on, either to learn some new technology or add a little bit of flair to my life. I've just started B-Bots, my collection of small and mostly useless trinkets and software applications, which I will be showcasing in this website.

Associate Software Engineer

Junu.io - 2021 to 2023

  • During my studies, worked on the development of a SaaS Business Analytics Tool leveraging insights that companies could act on, built on ASP.NET MVC.
  • Main skills: C#/.NET, ASP.NET MVC, Microsoft Azure Cloud development, REST API design/development and integration, Clean Architecture, Microservices, SQL Server, Unit testing.

Junior Software Engineer

Farfetch - 2020 to 2021

  • Was part of the Store of the Future team, where I delivered solutions to bring technology to brick-and-mortar fashion boutiques and integrate the client- and store-assistant-experience with the Farfetch e-commerce platform.
  • Main skills: C#/.NET, ASP.NET, Event-Driven Architecture, Kafka, Microservices, Domain-Driven Design, REST API development, Monitoring with Grafana, CQS pattern, NoSQL Cassandra DB, Unit testing.

Student Software Engineer

Premium Minds - 2019

  • My first job while I was doing my BSc., I joined the team developing a web platform for a Portuguese energy audit company. Implemented and automated multiple business flows and translated other business procedures into code, with a focus on open-source technologies.

  • Attended three semesters, registration is paused and will come back in the future :)
  • Worked on multiple projects like a wearable device to detect anxiety on young adults, online spaces and behaviors of the LGBTQ+ community, ethical challenges and trade-offs in tech startups development, and a master thesis about interaction strategies between humans and non-humanoid robots.
